Since I've the advantage of touching the plants, I doubt that they're both the same species. The leaf of 'thorelii' is thinner like lowland neps eg viking's. The Smilesii gives me the feeling close...

Some of the cutting are too long to be fully buried into the media. And having the root too near to the bottom is like hving a pot too shallow. If the sliver doesn't work properly, at least I can...

I've not seen the grown pitcher of syurga. At least the young one looks quite similar. I guess you are right in terms of pitcher shape are closer to ventricosa. Leaf shape is quite similar to Ed's...

All my VFTs are in 2-3cm of water, by end of the day water level drop to ~1cm. I change water every 3 days to prevent mosquito breeding. So I don't think it's due...

No. That's good info. My condo is scarce of critters unless raining season. Since pass weeks has been dry, it may be hungry. No harm trying to feed it.
The other possibility is window cleaning...
