may be your plants are juvenils ?

what species have you ? what cultivate condition ?

I use here ,without ant ,this fertilizer NPK : 25-5-5 ( type green plant with a big N)

can you take picture from the stem in totality, from the caudex to the leaves , to see all the alveoli and the clypeoli .

this picture from clypeoli is very interessant .

you can always let the sundew in the sun this is not a problem for them.


Pinguicula like the ecologies of shade or half shade, morning sun does not bother them.

a lot of ping leaves turn in red or pink with the UV it is a normal antocyane or caroten reaction.

some ping have some natural red leaves( peren ) like here in europe P.poldinii and...

actualy you have a lot of hybrids , with moctezumae and gypsicola like a first parent.

for me the substrat and their cultivate condition are the raison .

here it is the last period outdoor , after all are in door in dormancy ,dry or lightly wet.

all these specie flowered...

if you start from seeds , 3- 4 years are necessary to have flower then drupe ( seeds inside)

just some ant are infeoded to the ant plant also if their species is not infeoded at these plants...
